What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health profession that assists people of all ages lead productive, satisfying and independent life. Fundamental to the practice of OT is the term occupation. Occupation refers to the tasks and activities that occupy a person's time and energy throughout the day. Occupation can include things like getting dressed, preparing a meal, working at a job, playing with friends, working at school and enjoying time with family or friends. In addition to addressing an individuals' physical well-being, Occupational Therapists are trained to address psychological, social and environmental factors that can affect an individual's ability to function after illness or disability

Thomas, Neill and Associates is a community-based Occupational Therapy Service provider. Our main office is located in Peterborough. In association with the Lead the Way group of clinics www.leadtheway.ca we provide clinic based resources at locations throughout the Kawarthas including, Lakefield, Lindsay, Bridgenorth and at Trent University. Many of our services can also be provided in the community; at your home, school or work place.
